Working days: Full time Teaching Assistant (Band 2) – 30.5 hours

Salary: - Grade 1.2 FTE £24,480.00.  Hourly rate: £12.69. £16,902 Per Annum

The Governors of Mawnan C of E VA Primary School are seeking to appoint a skilled and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our talented staff team. We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking KS2 teaching assistant, ideally with previous experience, who believes that the child’s needs should be at the heart of the learning process and that the curriculum should be creative, engaging and memorable. 

The role will include supporting the teaching and learning in one of our KS2 classes, working with small groups of children or individuals to ensure all pupils make excellent progress and reach their full potential. This role will include supporting lunchtime provision.

The successful candidate will need to have:

  • high expectations of what children can achieve 
  • experience of working with children in the primary range

  • an ability to develop good relationships with children, colleagues, governors and parents  

  • a flexible, positive, caring and creative approach 

  • an ability to engage children in learning 

  • a secure subject knowledge and qualified to GCSE level (Grade C or above), or equivalent, in Maths and English.
